This tree is a 'Ballerina' tree, or a minarettes tree, which means that it will not develop any side-shoots and will therefore maintain its columnar shape without pruning. The apples are highly attractive, as they have a rounded shape with flattened tops and bottoms. The apples are green in colour, with a glossy red overcoat, and are suitable for eating fresh or cooking; they have a sharp taste and crisp flesh.

You can also plant this narrow tree in a large pot on a sunny patio.
