Wisterias are really very attractive climbing plants that offer the most wonderful showy flowers during late spring and early summer. The pea-like flowers hang in pendulous racemes and are softly coloured in a variety of pastel shades; they are strongly scented and are therefore perfect for a sensory garden.
The leaves of wisteria plants are pinnate in shape and cover the woody branches from spring through until autumn. You can train this climber on a trellis, pergola or even up against a sunny wall.
