‘Kumoi’ is a distinctive variety of pear and the rounded fruits resemble that of a russet apple: the fruits are perfectly spherical with a golden brown skin and they have the most refreshing taste. The fruit has notes of strawberry to it and it makes a fantastic addition to an autumnal salad. The pears can be stored for up to two months in the fridge. Although this is a self-fertile pear, you would yield a larger crop from having a pollination partner. The tree itself is an upright, spreading tree with attractive white flowers in spring and ovate green leaves. A great choice for an unusual pear tree.
