Royal Gala apples are fairly resistant to bruising and are sweet and grainy, with a mild flavour and a thinner skin than most apples. They are also considered to be a very soft eating apple due to their lack of crispiness, well-suited for denture wearers. These fruits store well and can usually be enjoyed up until January. Aside from the delicious apples, this tree has deep green foliage and the usual 'apple blossom' flowering colours of pink and white. To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. 'Pixie').
