The Hillieri is an outstanding variety of robinia; this tree features the most beautiful display of summer flowers which open up from their deep pink buds. During spring and summer the branches are studded with racemes of pale pink pea-like flowers which carry the most delightfully sweet scent. Even when the flowers have disappeared, the foliage offers great ornamental interest as the leaves are divided into fine pinnate leaflets that are mid-green in colour. This tree makes a great specimen and it works very well when planted near a seating area as you can enjoy the fragrance of the pretty flowers.
