Pyrus 'Winter Nellis' is a small but good late variety with a good resistance to the frost. The fruit has a yellow-green skin which is almost covered in russet. The greenish white flesh is firm, sweet, and juicy with a good rich flavour. This pear is useful for cooking, preserving and very good when eaten fresh from the tree. To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. 'Beth').
