Prunus 'Rivers' Early Prolific' really does live up to its name. It is a small, spreading tree which produces heavy crops of small, bluish-purple plums very early on in the season. A good dessert variety when fully ripe with golden juicy flesh. Aside from the delicious fruits, the tree itself has a spreading habit and its branches hold ovate-elliptic green leaves and pretty white flowers in spring.
