The ‘Asano’ is a real showstopper. This Japanese cherry has highly distinctive flowers that are packed with rose pink petals, creating an eye-catching ‘pom pom’ shape. The spring flowers are accompanied by bronzed foliage and this later matures to a dark green by summer. The slender, serrated leaves add further interest in autumn when they turn to oranges and reds. This upright, slender tree is perfect for the smaller garden and it makes an excellent specimen. Position it in a sunny spot to get the best autumn colour.
