Malus floribunda has glorious, pale pink flowers in mid- late spring which immerse the tree in a pink cloud. The flowers are replaced by small, pea-like, golden-yellow fruit which persists well into winter. The long-lasting fruit is a good source of food for birds and other wildlife. The leaves are mid-green in summer, but they really shine when they put on a dazzling autumn display of coppery red and bronzed yellow. This Japanese crab apple is an excellent ornamental tree for a sunny, urban site. Dense and spreading in habit with gracefully arching branches.
