Very attractive star-shaped flowers, soft lilac pink flushed with purple, bloom from bare branches in spring. The foliage is mid green in colour and the tree is deciduous. Unlike some others this plant will produce flowers on comparatively young plants. This Magnolia will thrive in heavy clay and tolerant of atmospheric pollution but may benefit from some protection from strong winds.
