The 'Franquette' walnut tree is a strong-growing tree which has an upright-spreading habit. Its slender branches hold flavoursome golden brown nuts which are of a consistently high quality. The large nuts have thin shells and appear in clusters on the end of the branches. This variety is late into leaf and therefore avoids frosts; its leaves are ovate and mid-green in colour.
