Arbutus unedo can either be grown as a shrub, when in bush form, or as a medium sized tree. This tree features attractive shredding brown bark which is highly ornamental. The white flowers are borne in late autumn and since the fruits take 12 months to ripen, the tree bears both mature fruits and flowers at the same time, making it incredibly beautiful. This tree is ideal for any location due to its wind-resistance meaning it can tollerate coastal conditions just as well as any normal garden setting.
