The Acer palmatum 'Trompenburg' is a a deciduous tree with rounded, deep-cut leaves which are said to resemble a hand. The foliage emerges with a beautiful wine- red colour, which then develops to a mid-green come summer, before a final autumnal burst of orange and red. This Japanese maple is an ideal ornamental tree for a garden that has plenty of space so the tree can be left to thrive and spread.
