Acer palamatum 'Disectum' is a slow-growing shrub which, with age, forms a rounded mushroom shape. It has very finely divided green leaves that turn golden yellow before dropping in the autumn. This Japanese maple makes a beautiful specimen plant in small gardens and can be successfully grown in large containers. This low-maintenance variety does not benefit from regular pruning as it prefers to be left alone.
