Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is a slow-growing elegant plant with a good spreading growth habit. It has deep purple/red leaves in spring and summer, the foliage colour intensifies just before the leaves drop. Winter twigs are dark purple/black. This Japanese Maple is used as the standard by which all other palmatum cultivars are judged. Ideal for container growing due to small eventual size.
