Quince trees have very high aesthetic qualities with their gnarled and contorted trunk and branches as well as their white or pink blossoms in June. Quince fruits make delicious jellies and jams when combined with apples and are themselves very aromatic. The Quince tree will grow to around 4m (12ft) high and prefers a moist soil. The Quince fruit should be picked in October before the frosts arrive.
