Pittosporum is a delightful genus of shrubs that are evergreen, meaning that they offer interest all year round. The leaves are thick, waxy and often lightly aromatic; some varieties are variegated and most have wavy margins. Pretty 5-petalled flowers appear in April-May and these add extra interest during spring.
These shrubs require fertile, moist but well-drained soil and they are perfect for planting as a low-maintenance hedge or screen.
