However it was renamed some time later by Mr John Lane as Lane's Prince Albert, when he grew it commercially. The apples are large in size, round and conical in shape. The skin is bright green ripening to yellow, and flushed with an earthy red, and displays broken red stripes. The flesh is white with a hint of green and has a crisp and juicy texture.
