In late June, an abundance of bell-shaped flowers cover the tree and these last until the first frosts. The petals are orange-red and these are surrounded by vivid red calyces. The leaves are deep green in colour and lance-shaped. This semi-evergreen shrub thrives in a fairly sheltered spot and it looks beautiful against a sunny wall or in a large pot.
