Aucuba shrubs, also known as 'spotted laurels', are fantastic evergreen shrubs that have variegated waxy leaves. These attractive plants are dioecious which means that they have separate male and female plants. They produce small red berries which are great for attracting birds, although the real benefit of this genus is the fact that their leaves bring an interesting contrast of colour to your garden.
