Abies are a delightful genus of evergreen conifers that will bring interest to your garden all year round. They usually grow to have a conical or pyramidal habit, often with whorled branches that hold linear leaves. When they are more mature, Abies produce large cones that are often purple in colour. Abies are great structural trees and they look great at the back of a large shrubbery.

The needle-like leaves are bright green when young, and mature to a darker green colour over time; they have glistening silvery-white undersides and seen as the ‘Koreana’ is evergreen they will add interest to your garden all year round. This conifer is slow-growing and will eventually form a conical shaped tree that is densely packed with whorled branches. The ‘Koreana’ is well-suited to being planted in a large shrubbery, and works particularly well when planted alongside a glacous coloured conifer like the Chamaecyparis ‘Blue Nantais’.
