These delightful climbers are perfect for a sunny situation as they offer long-lasting flowers and pretty healthy green foliage. Most are semi-evergreen, with some evergreen varieties, and all feature a delightful display of flowers. The flowers are bell-shaped and come in a range of colours; they flowers over a long period – usually from spring through to autumn.
Abutilon can be trained on a trellis on a sunny wall or can be planted in a sheltered border.

In late June, an abundance of bell-shaped flowers cover the tree and these last until the first frosts. The petals are orange-red and these are surrounded by vivid red calyces. The leaves are deep green in colour and lance-shaped. This semi-evergreen shrub thrives in a fairly sheltered spot and it looks beautiful against a sunny wall or in a large pot.
