If you want to add a year-round carpet of green to a bed then this pachysandra is an excellent choice. This mat-forming plant will give good, low-maintenance ground coverage as the rich green leaves form in loose rosettes and make a textured, verdant carpet. In summer you also get the added interest of white, tubular flowers that sit neatly amongst the foliage. This attractive plant has the added bonus of deterring weeds and it works particularly well when planted underneath the light shade of a tree or shrub.
