Prunus Jeffersons Gage
Jeffersons Gage Tree
Common Name: Jeffersons Gage (Dessert/Culinary) Latin Name: Prunus domestica 'Jeffersons Gage' Soil: Tolerant to most soils Position: Full sun Fruit picking time: Early September Fruit size/colour: Large oval, golden fruits with red spots Pollination group: Requires a pollinator Jefferson's Gage features large, yellow-green fruits which ripen over about 10 days so they have the added benefit of being able to be picked gradually. The fruits are very sweet and have a juicy taste when ripe. This tree bears very attractive fruits and foliage for most of the year and requires little care. This would benefit highly from being fan trained against a warm south facing wall. (Please note the picture is for illustration purposes only and is not a Jefferson's Gage Tree)
