This genus of evergreen shrubs has a lot to offer and they can be planted in a range of situations, including in mixed beds and borders as well as large pots of a sunny patio. Pieris are generally quite compact shrubs that have leathery leaves which will give you interest all year round. The flowers, usually white, are bell-shaped and add attractive interest in spring.
They require humus-rich, acidic and fertile soil and require the soil to be well-drained. These shrubs can tolerate some shade, but do require sun to do well.
