Acer x orientalia Minorient
Hybrid Maple Tree
Common Name: Hybrid Maple Latin Name: Acer x orientalia ‘Minorient’ Soil: Fertile, moist, well-drained Position: Full sun or partial shade Hardiness: Very hardy Eventual height/spread: 4m/3m Special features: Compact size and beautiful variegated leaves (Deciduous) Acer 'Minorient' is a rather rare find in the UK, and we think it will soon become popular when people discover its features: the highly renowned French nursery, Minier, created this maple from Acer Campestre and Acer Cappadocicum and the result is fantastic. The leaves are of the classic maple shape, but with beautifully variegated colours of red, orange and green. The leaves burst to a final shade of maroon red, before falling in autumn. With this being such a compact tree, it is perfect for adding colourful interest to a small garden.
