Pyrus 'Williams' is a good early eating pear tree that is covered with pure white flowers in mid-spring, followed by pale green fruits in September. The skin of the fruit turns to golden yellow as it ripens. The flesh of the fruit is white, very juicy and sweet. Great for eating straight from the tree and equally great for stewing. The tree itself has a slight spreading habit and its branches hold pure white flowers in spring. To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. 'Beth').
