Acer rubrum is a fast-growing, ultimately large, round-headed tree native to North America. Eye-catching small red flowers appear in the bare branches in the spring. The dark green summer leaves turn a brilliant red-scarlet in autumn. The colours are seasonably variable but will be more predictable in neutral to acid soils. Deciduous.
