The ‘Aureum’ is a strong and bold Acer which grows to have a broad crown full of its distinctive 5-lobed leaves. The leaves appear yellow in spring, and then turn to a vivid green colour by summer, before a final burst of yellow in autumn. This acer has been given an RHS award of garden merit for its beautiful leaf colour and its delightful form. This tree is particularly well-suited to being planted next to the Acer cappadocicum ‘Rubrum’ as the yellow-green leaves of the ‘Aureum’ are really brought to life when set against the contrasting red leaves.
