The blossom opens from deep pink buds and is paler pink inside which creates a lovely effect at bloom time. This tree has large greenish-yellow flushed orange-brown fruits which can be picked in mid-October. Excellent baking apple which cooks to a well- flavoured yellow puree which needs little sugar adding. Good for pies, sauce or baking. Heavy cropper. Suitable for colder areas and is more resistant to frost.

The apples are bright crimson, crisp and juicy with a hint of strawberry flavour. The fruit has deep scarlet skin, red stained flesh when fully ripe and a delicious fruity strawberry flavour. Good disease resistance. Although this tree is self fertile, it can also be used to cross pollinate other apple trees in the same flowering group (e.g. Crispin).
