The very fine leaves are highly ornamental and they form a wispy mound. In summer blue-green flower spikes add further interest and these age to a straw-like texture. As the name suggests, the colour is intense and therefore makes a fantastic accent plant for any of the darker grasses: we love it alongside the Carex testacea as the two plants have fine leaves, but with contrasting colours.
