The ‘Semiplena’ is a Japanese native that is a relatively new addition to the U.K. and currently a rare find. We are proud to be one of the first nurseries to showcase it. It features frilly, soft white flowers that have a pink blush to them in spring; the flowers are usually in full bloom just as the first leaves are starting to emerge. The serrated leaves are a dark green from spring to summer but they take on brilliant shades of red and orange in autumn. Make sure you plant this in a sunny spot to get the best leaf colour.
