It forms a loose looking shrub which has mid-green matt leaves with slightly wavy edges. Later, it covers itself in large panicles of lilac blue flowers in summer and early autumn. The flowers look a bit like fine boned lilac. It is not long-lived and its loose, more open, habit of growth make it a fairly gentle shrub in its effect, even when in flower.
