The versatile plums are medium in size and have a bloomy blue-black skin. The flesh of the plums is sweet in taste and yellow in colour; they are primarily enjoyed as a culinary variety, but they make an equally good dessert variety. This variety is a cross between Czar and Greengage and it has inherited the best qualities from each of its parents.

The tree itself is an attractive tree which has a pendulous habit, especially when it is weighed-down with crops, and it looks fantastic when its branches are topped with snow in winter.
