Mexican orange blossoms are outstanding evergreen shrubs that have palmately divided leaves that carry an aromatic fragrance. The star-shaped flowers are also fragrant and therefore this is the perfect choice for a sensory garden. The waxy green leaves add colour to your garden all year round, they also make the perfect foil for other plants when they are not in bloom. The common name is derived from the fact that the flowers resemble the flowers on an orange tree, they also carry the same scent. In order to get the best out of this shrub, plant it in a full sun position. The sweetly scented flowers are also a great choice for attracting wildlife to your garden and are particularly popular with butterflies. The flowers usually appear in spring but in a really good summer you may get another delightful batch appearing in late summer.
