The descending branches are studded with fragrant, light pink flowers in late April which are set off by the copper-red young leaves. The flowers are then replaced by dark orange-red fruits which appear in the autumn and hold into winter. This tree is ideal for smaller gardens.

Over summer, the bronzed leaves hold their colour, before falling in autumn. From October onwards, red-orange fruits appear and these last for several months: a great natural bird feeder over winter.
