Pyrus 'Beth' is an excellent garden variety making a small compact tree producing a very reliable and heavy crop. It has small to medium conical shaped fruit with smooth, pale green skin later turning to yellow. The flesh is creamy white and very juicy, with a sweet flavour. This pear was bred at the East Malling Research Station in the UK. To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same flowering group (e.g. 'Williams').
This Pear Tree is supplied bare rooted suitable for planting from November until March or in a 10 litre container suitable for planting all year round.. The total height of this tree is approximately 1.5-2.1m (5-7ft) depending on which size you have chosen.
Our bare rooted trees are hand lifted from our nursery on the day or day before despatch. There will be no soil around the roots but they are covered with a bag to prevent them drying out. If you are unable to plant the trees immediately there is no need to panic. The trees are completely dormant this time of year, which means as long as the roots are kept out of the frost and well wrapped up no harm will come to them, although the sooner you can get them planted in the ground the better.
