Malus 'Laxton's Superb' is the most widely grown of all the late dessert varieties. The fruit is greenish-yellow flushed with flushed with purple and red stripes giving it an attractive old fashioned appearance. This apple is a cold substitute for 'Cox's Orange Pippin' in colder areas due to its good resistance to frost.

To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same or adjacent flowering group (e.g. Arthur Turner).

This Apple Tree is supplied bare rooted suitable for planting from November until March or in a 10 litre container suitable for planting all year round. The total height of this tree is approximately 1.5-2.1m (5-7ft) depending on which size you have chosen.

Our bare rooted trees are hand lifted from our nursery on the day or day before despatch. There will be no soil around the roots but they are covered with a bag to prevent them drying out. If you are unable to plant the trees immediately there is no need to panic. The trees are completely dormant this time of year, which means as long as the roots are kept out of the frost and well wrapped up no harm will come to them, although the sooner you can get them planted in the ground the better.
