A handsome tree which develops into a beautiful bell shape as it matures. It has simple beautiful green leaves which shine with life in spring and turn a beautiful bronze and yellow colour in the autumn. When grown as a tree, it produces fruit, called beech mast, as well as autumn leaves.
Beech mast has traditionally been associated with the right of pannage where, on common land, pigs may be turned loose in autumn to eat the fallen nuts. Beech trees are much less venerable than one might suppose.
This is a feathered tree; the total height from the ground is approximately 1.8-2.2m in a 10 litre container.
All of our trees and shrubs are grown in the UK to the highest standard. Every order comes complete with planting instructions and a guide to looking after your purchase.
