Carpinus 'Fastigiata' is a distinctive, erect form of the native hornbeam that forms a flame-shaped tree. The dark green foliage turns yellow and orange in the autumn. This tree is excellent planted as a specimen tree or where space is limited.

This Hornbeam Tree is supplied bare rooted suitable for planting from November until March or in a 10 litre container suitable for planting all year round. The total height of this feathered tree is approximately 1.8-2.2m (6-7ft).

Our bare rooted trees are hand lifted from our nursery on the day or day before despatch. There will be no soil around the roots but they are covered with a bag to prevent them drying out. If you are unable to plant the trees immediately there is no need to panic. The trees are completely dormant this time of year, which means as long as the roots are kept out of the frost and well wrapped up no harm will come to them, although the sooner you can get them planted in the ground the better.
